Joe Biden Just Paid A Heartwarming Tribute To The Victim Of The Charlottesville Rally

Former Vice President Joe Biden reminded us all why we love him so much after he came forth to honor Heather Heyer on the anniversary of her death in the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, calling upon his fellow Americans to take a stand against “hatred and bigotry.”

Biden tweeted out on Sunday that Heyer’s spirit is “in every person who stands up to reject hatred and bigotry.”

“Make no mistake: this fight goes on,” he added. “The battle for the soul of this nation rests with each of us, everyday.”

Heyer lost her life when a deranged man plowed his car into a crowd of people protesting the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville last year. The suspect, James Fields, was later indicted with federal hate crimes.

Biden immediately denounced the fatally violent rally at the time, declaring that “racism and hate have no place” in the U.S.

He also lashed out against President Trump for his controversial response to the rally in Charlottesville, calling it “reprehensible.”

Trump faced heavy scrutiny over his remarks following the rally, during which he said that the blame was on “both sides” for the violence that occurred during the event.

A second “Unite the Right” rally was hosted in Washington, D.C. on Sunday on the original rally’s second anniversary; About 20 people attended the white supremacist rally and left just hours before it was scheduled to end.

Hundreds of counter-protesters flooded into the city, vastly outnumbering the attendees.

Biden’s words stand as a reminder to all Americans to stand up for justice and equality.
