JUST IN: Robert De Niro Says Wake Up And Smell The Coffee, U.S. Is Suffering From “Temporary Insanity”

According to the Associated Press, in a recent speech in the Middle East, actor Robert De Niro attacked President Trump and his “backward” views on climate change. He argued that the U.S. is suffering from “temporary insanity” on climate change, but that the nation would eventually be better once the “dangerous leader” is voted out.

Speaking at Dubai’s World Government Summit, De Niro said, “I am talking about my own country, the United States of America. We don’t like to say we are a ‘backward’ country so let’s just say we’re suffering from a case of temporary insanity.”

De Niro, who has been frequently critical of Trump throughout his presidency, added that the U.S. would “eventually cure itself by voting our dangerous leader” out of the White House.

De Niro also referenced comments by Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt, who recently questioned climate change and whether it actually even is a threat.

Pruitt had said in a recent interview with Las Vegas television station KSNV, “Is it an existential threat? Is it something that is unsustainable? Or what kind of effect or harm is this going to have? We know that humans have most flourished during times of, what? Warming trends. So I think there’s assumptions made that because the climate is warming, that that necessarily is a bad thing.”
